Figma adds presets for new iPhones

October 23, 2026

The release notes list presets for iPhone Duo and iPhone 18. This small, practical update gives designers a starting point: a ready-made screen size is more useful than reconstructing dimensions from memory. The preset itself does not replace testing an interface’s responsive behavior.

Weave images and video are available through MCP

October 26, 2026

Figma’s release notes mention the ability to work with Weave images and video through MCP. These operations consume credits: an automated call does not make generation free. A find at the intersection of design tools and work with agents.

Version history is coming to plugins and shaders

October 27, 2026 · gradual rollout

Figma has begun gradually rolling out version history for plugins and shaders. The update helps users see how a tool has evolved; a gradual rollout means the feature may not reach everyone at the same time. A changelog date does not guarantee its availability in every account.

Typographic posters at Barcelona Design Week

October 23, 2026

The festival program included an exhibition of typographic posters. It is an invitation to look at letters as the main compositional element: rhythm, scale, and spacing can carry an image without additional illustration. The program page has event details and context for the work.

Underground BDW: thirty prototypes

October 23–24, 2026

The Underground BDW program included an exhibition of 30 prototypes. The intermediate object is the interesting part: the idea can already be seen and discussed, but does not yet have to look like a mass-produced product. The event ran for two days; this is a note about an exhibition that has taken place.

Opened October 24, 2026

Milan graphics biennial: ways of reading a sign

Program October 22–25, 2026 and later dates

The Biennale Internazionale Grafica program features SIGNS 4, ID-ICTIONARY, Italics, and Portolani. These are separate exhibition projects, not four names for one show. Check the dates and venues individually: the festival calendar does not mean every show started and ended at the same time.

For the tenth Madrid Gráfica, 65 designers, illustrators, photographers, and graphic artists each received one word and turned it into an image. The condition was simple: the finished poster could contain no text. It is an interesting way to observe visual argument: what remains clear when a headline cannot help?

It remains a beta: this does not promise the same availability in the stable release.

Parling: Kent Lew’s new screen typeface

Release announced October 28, 2026

Kent Lew introduced Parling; the family description is on KL Type, and the release announcement is on TypeDrawers. Instead of judging it by one attractive word, open the specimens and examine the type at different sizes. Check licensing and available styles with the designer rather than inferring them from a promotional image.

Synaps leaves beta

October 28, 2026

The architectural service’s changelog announced its exit from beta. DWG import and sections are among the listed features. This helps trace the move from drawing to spatial representation; the presence of import alone does not prove flawless operation with every third-party file.
